Ellipsoidal Spotlights
Ellipsoidals are stage lighting fixtures named for the ellipsoidal reflector that is used to collect and direct the light through a lens barrel. Ellipsoidal lights come in LED, HID or traditionally Tungsten Halogen. There are many types of ERS (Ellipsoidal Reflector Spotlights) that are designed and used for a wide variety of applications in the entertainment and display industry. Often referred to as Leko lights or Source Fours due to the brand recognition, Ellipsoidals are manufactured by companies such as Altman Lighting, ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls), Chauvet, Times Square Lighting, Elation and more.
